Hello my name is Daphne Reed I am a wife of a recently deployed Army reservist.( E-5) We have two sons Levi 10 and Kale 4.Our situation is my husband was making more money with his civilian job then he does being deployed with the Army. On top of that we had to spend extra money we didn't have to prepare for his deployment. He left on April 11th 2007, since then he has had 3 passes to come home in which we had to pay for the plane tickets our selves - Yes we couldn't afford it but how could I deny him coming home at any time (Thank god for Skybus cheap flights). June 30th - leaving July 4th will be his last time home before heading out for Baghdad beginning of August. The bad part is since he is not in country yet he is not getting the extended pay that would really help right now. I am currently looking for employment but no calls as of yet. I did not want to worry my husband with these issues, he has his own worries and home should not be what he is worried about. I do not want him holding a grudge for serving his country because he is making less money then he did when he was home. I added up our income - took away the deductions, expenses and creditors owed and that only left us with $91.45 extra a month and after already starting out behind this doesn't help. (this is why I am looking for employment) Plus I have to leave him some money for his spending. These are our bills; Mortgage - 2 months behind (Not including July's due in 2 weeks) = $1,810.16 Vehicle - just paid last months today due again 6/24 no money for it = $394.01 Car Insurance -not behind- due 6/29 no money for it = $89.00 Phone - paid Gas- paid Electric- 2 months behind = $179.25 American General- paid Chase Visa- paid Best Buy- paid Kay Jewelers- paid Trash- paid Water/Sewer - 2 months behind = $186.51 Totals - $2,658.93 I realize you can't possibly help us with all of this but any help would be greatly appreciated - or even if you know of any employment possibilities in the Bellville or Mansfield Ohio area would help as well. If I can just get help getting caught up it wont be so hard but starting out in the hole killed us - plus once I get employment and he starts getting the extra pay we will be just fine.
