My name is Kristine, I am a mother to two sons and a proud Army wife to Private Joshua Starr. My husband is overseas and I have just lost my job due to my mental illness. The children and I live in Mannford Oklahoma, a remote rural area that hasn't any public transportation and is miles from all healthcare and necessities. My husband came home for 3 short weeks last year and helped move the kids and I closer to my sister for emotional support while he is gone. On our way across the Montana/Wyoming border, our blazer broke down and had to be pulled behind the U-Haul for the remaining 1000 miles. It has a leaking transmission, broken AC pump, and we are unsure of what else because we can not drive it to a mechanic. We are expected to arrive at Ft Hood in November of this year. We live check to check. It's been a hard year spending Christmas and all holidays apart for the first time in our lives together and I don't have the courage to tell my husband that I am failing miserably as a wife and mother because I am struggling so hard to learn how to care for children by myself for the first time, that I am in a deep depression because he, as my best friend, is not with me after 5 years of marriage, that I'm struggling so badly financially and unable to buy school clothes, pay medical bills, fix our vehicle, and save for our next duty station move. The Army does not allow us to express anything negative to our soldiers while they are deployed for fear that an emotional distraction will put them in more of harms way. If someone could help me get our blazer fixed that would be a tremendous help to my family. I am so appreciative to those that support our soldiers and know that we need your continued prayers because I know thousands of military wives' hearts and souls feel so broken right now and it becomes more and more difficult each day to hold our heads high and put on a brave face for our little ones. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and hearts. God bless you and again thank you for your generosity "kristine starr"
