My name is Dawna Daves.  I live in Fayetteville, NC with my three children (3, 15, 17).  I have been abused my husband for almost have of his military career.  On November 5th, he abandoned me and my children.  It was a blessing and devastation in the same day.  It put me in the hospital for three days, I have heart problems.  I am glad he is gone because he silenced me for so long and recently found out he had been trying to hurt my 15 year old son for the last 2 years in u back yard at night. It is under investigation.  He has not paid us anything, we have lived off school help and charity and donations.  He makes over 4000.00 a month with his retirement and current job.  I have a hearing on Monday for the domestic violence, I turned him in after all these years and for my son.  I should have a long time ago, but he threaten to kill me and my kids if we messed up (not the language he used) his military career or new job. I need help with utilities and groceries, gas.  I work as a teacher asstistan.  I make 1200.00 a month.  This month was cut short due to my hospital stay and my son is a heart and lung patient a Duke Hospital.  My three year old is a patient at Chapel hill, she has one kidney and the same heart defect as my son.  I need help please!!!!!  I'm not sure what help you offer, but I will take anything at this point!!!!  I am going to lose everything I have!!!! 
I do not have money for an attorney so I am going to legal aide here in Cumberland County on Tuesday since my hearing is on Monday.  They offer discount help attorneys. I am also going to our local Social Services, but it takes time with paper work.  I hope that they can get his paycheck garnish temporarily until I can't file legal separation.
I have been a military wife for almost 19 years and this is where I am today.
