. July 15,2006Its been an ongoing battle, the weight I gained during my corporate years of wining and dinning clients, associates and friends, just doesnt come off. Granted, I need to get into a gym and concentrate on working out seriously because I know its not so much my intake of food as its the lack of exercise. But Ive been hindred by gout, arthritis and lack of transportation. The hurricanes damaged not only my home but my car as well, in fact it tore away the carport. No sense putting a new car out in this sun without protection. I know Im under a great deal of stress which is affecting me physically and mentally inspite of my efforst to keep everything in perspective. I now weight 274 lbs, thats 10 lbs more than when I initally started to try and lose weight. Im bound and determined to lose 100 lbs! I could use some help doing so. I know eating fresh foods is best for me but without transportation I find I can only get out once a month to do shopping by renting a car. The fresh foods won't keep. At one time under Nutri system and three days a week in a gym I got down to 176. But thats history. Today 7/28/06 I weighed myself and I am a whopping 282!. I just can't keep going like this. I'be been literally forced into retirement Im now 64. Funds are limited and I'm basically in effect climbing the walls.
HERE IS WHATS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2000
Week 2 258 lbs 2/1/2000
Week 3 254 lbs 2/5/2000
Week 4 250 lbs 2/12/2000

07/14/2001 272lbs

A New year has started, Ive weighed myself this date 1/9/2007 and my weight is now 272. Thats 8 pounds over when I started on January of 2000 at which time I weighed 264. My diet is limited lots of water, no fats, no salt, no sweets. My biggest issue is lack of exercise. Im positive if I exercised Id lose weight quickly. There are no products that will really make you lose weight. Its truly a matter of diet and exercise.
Saturday 1/13/2007 Have started on the Nutrisystem program with meals delivered to my home. Lets ee if a regimented meal program will help. My weight today is 281 lbs !
Here are some suggestions on dieting from local citizens:
Melissa Layton, 32, Ft. Pierce Cashiers says: CUT BACK ON THE FAT and sodium
and stay away from fried foods. My Mother had a heart attack. She's lost about
30 pounds in the past year, and she feels better."
Debra Hudson, 42 , Fort Pierce,Manager at a Fabric Store says: DRINK LOTS OF WATER.
It fills you up so you don't get so hungry, and it flushes out your system. I was
reading the other day that according to my weight. I should drink 12 8-ounce glasses
of water a day instead of the recommended eight.
Earl Flythe,79, Sutart, Retired says: DRINK A CAN OF SLIM-FAST at lunch everyday,
instead of eating food. It has 23 vitamins and minerals.
Gail Fries, 61, Stuart, Bank Teller says: DON'T SNACK BETWEEN MEALS. Don't eat
fattening foods and exercise. Try to walk everyday.
Lois Jeffcott, 69, North Palm Beach, retired says: "EAT A WELL-BALANCED DIET and
eat more fruits and vegetables and less red meat. If you stay away from carbohydartes,
sugars and fats, you'll lose weight.
Randy DeMAria, 35, Boca Raton, pilot says: EXERCISE, I run and lift weights three
times a week, and it helps to keep the weight off. I also eat smaller meals -
about five times a day - instead of eating three big meals a day.
Glen Calder, 27, Boynton Beach, Public-relations specialist says: DON'T GO FOR
THIRDS (portions). Also, park your golf cart far from the green so you have to walk
a little bit.
Trisha Curtis, 19, Delray Beach, student says: EXERCISE FIVE TIMES A WEEK and follow
the food pyramid of nutrition. Go to the gym for some cardio workouts and weight lifting.
Matt Dettman, 22, West Palm Beach, retail sales says: SELF-CONTROL. Eat in moderation,
and know what foods are beneficial to your health. I do strength training three
times a week, and that hleps keep the weight off.
