Ahold Delhaize USA Associate Volunteers Pack Meals and Hope for Local Families

June 29, 2026

For the second year in a row, more than 100 volunteers, including Ahold Delhaize USA associates and their families, rolled up their sleeves in Concord, N.C., to provide local children with nutritional meals during summer break.

Together with the staff at Esther's Heart, the group packed more than 2,000 meal bags to help students during a time when many families face added challenges without school-year food programs.

Among the Ahold Delhaize USA Store Development, Leasing and Facilities Support associates who took part were Office Maintenance Coordinator Kyle Sharp, Project Coordinator Brandi Hodge, Capital Budget Coordinator Savannah McGorda and Special Projects Specialist Chuck Morse. The group assembled meal bags designed to provide support for kids while classrooms are closed.

"This was a great opportunity to get involved and give back," Chuck said. "It's always inspiring to see how much can be accomplished when people come together for a common purpose."

For associates, the event was a meaningful way to spend time with family while making a direct impact close to home. Each packed meal bag represented more than food, offering reassurance for families navigating the summer months.
