Ahold Delhaize USA Holds Company-Wide Spring Day of Service

More Than 1,800 Hours Served and $30,000 Donated

SALISBURY, N.C., (May 1, 2025) – Ahold Delhaize USA, the leading East Coast grocery retail group, held its annual Spring Day of Service on Friday, April 4. Through the company's community engagement and charitable giving arm, ADUSA Cares, associates participated in a sustainability-focused service day, supporting Ahold Delhaize USA's mission of enabling healthy people and planet.

Over 600 associates across seven states took part in Earth-friendly activities such as litter cleanups, community gardening, food rescue and more:

  • Scarborough, Maine: In partnership with Scarborough Land Trust and South Portland Land Trust, associates helped with trail maintenance at Pleasant Hill Preserve, South Branch Trail and Clark's Pond Trail. They also teamed up with Maine Needs, Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine and Partners for World Health to sort and distribute rescued food and medical supplies.
  • Salisbury, N.C.: At Feed NC, Rowan Helping Ministries and Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, associates assisted with various food rescue tasks. They also worked with the City of Salisbury and the City of Lexington to conduct litter cleanups at Kelsey Scott Park and Finch Park. Another group teamed up with Habitat for Humanity Rowan County to make progress on a home build site.
  • Quincy, Mass.: In collaboration with the Emerald Necklace Conservancy, associates cleaned and pruned Franklin Park. They also helped Interfaith Social Services sort and pack donated goods while others worked in the South Shore YMCA Community Garden.
  • Mauldin, S.C.: Associates helped Harvest Hope Food Bank with various food rescue tasks.
  • Landover, Md.: In partnership with the Alliance for the Chesapeake, associates cleared walking trails, picked up trash and planted seeds at The Well at Ox Run. They also spent time working in Capital Area Food Bank's community garden.
  • Chicago: Alongside the Chicago Parks District and the Forest Preserves of Cook County, cleaned up North Avenue Beach and Linne Woods.
  • Carlisle, Pa.: In collaboration with Letort Regional Authority and Alliance for the Chesapeake, associates help clean and replant seeds at Letort Park and Biddle Mission Park. They also teamed up with The Bridge Ecovillage to work in their community garden.

In addition to volunteer hours, Ahold Delhaize USA donated more than $30,000 to the 23 participating nonprofits so they can continue in their missions.
